how raven stole the sun

this is a submission for the show summer shores summer skies. It is drawing and beeswax collage....the dimensions are 11.5 inches and 27.5 inches...it is on wood. I had the drawings from this summer and then just worked out the composition today. I've reworked sections of this.....

this piece started slowly, and it wasn't clicking....pasted Sylvia Plath's poem "wintering" on the body. When I added the branch arms and used the cheese cloth gauze, things started to work. 12 inch form, and the arms span about 16 inches.

treasure box

this is a great jewelry box I found at Vinnies. It is part of a series of boxes: unlikely icons, and the bee box, etc. this one is still in progress.

halo

this piece is a 12 inch dressmaker's form....with beeswax wings and a joe pie weed flower imbedded in wax for the halo....the colors on the body are pink and gold....it didn't look good in photographs so I decided to use the filter..like it better this way...fragile.
